The blade was composed of three central
damascened straight rods and partly twisted rods near the point in the fuller area
and welded-in steel edges. The blade is slightly etched and aged. The pommel consists of two parts - the top
part with three rounded lobes with slightly curved ends and the bottom part,
both keeping a shape similar
to the guard. The bottom part of the pommel is fixed by clinching the
tang of the sword. The shaped top part is attached to the bottom part by
two sunken rivets.
The top part of the pommel is decorated with a twisted copper wire
inserted between the individual protrusions of the pommel as well as
between the top and bottom part of the pommel. |

part with five rounded lobes and the bottom part having a shape similar
to the guard. The bottom part of the pommel is fixed by clinching the
tang of the sword. The shaped top part is attached to the bottom part by
two sunken rivets.

The blade
was composed of 3 central pattern welded rods creating the core and
welded-in steel edges. The bronze
pommel and guard are decorated with deep cut of Viking patterns. The sword
was made by master smith Richard Kazda of the ArmArt company. The whole
sword-making process was based on the original procedures, involving
only manual work. Basic historical materials and procedures were used in
the process. |
