Lives in Brno. He studied at a secondary vocational school specializing in art casting. In addition to fishing, his main areas of interest include military history, historical fencing, and original, mainly manual, processing of metals and organic materials. Around 1985 he started, in his modest amateur workshop, to make for himself replicas of arms and often knives using old techniques. After 1989 the workshop expanded and since 1994 has been making arms on a professional basis.
